Our design principles

Here is an example of our design principles…

We believe that layering items is important to create a warm and ‘lived in’ style . We achieve this by using a range of textures and patterns in the form of cushions, throws, rugs and individual pieces of furniture that reflect your style.

Warmth and texture can be brought in to any space and can be achieved with all budgets through paint choices, lighting, layering & using carefully selected accessories.

Here is how we’ve elevated an area of a kitchen to provide a practical space using typical kitchen items

To Start…

If your shelving is needed to provide a practical storage solution, we would suggest focusing on displaying items that are constantly in rotation to allow for regular movement and limit build up of dust. For example, plates & drinking glasses

Next up…

To add texture & warmth, we’ve incorporated different materials and colour, greenery (which is easy to achieve in a kitchen with a potted herb) a wooden chopping board & an aged pot. Books on the top shelf help to create height and add colour.

The finished look…

To complete the look we have added accessories and picked a primary colour to maintain consistency within the space. Adding dried flowers is a great way to bring colour and add a new dimension, they are cost effective and are great to hide those ugly switches. The large plate and small bowls continue to add blue accents.

Alternative looks…

Here we have removed the practical elements & just focused on styling to create a warm kitchen corner

The Finished Space…

We wanted a mix of both practical & a more styled aesthetic, which we achieved using cookbooks, a lamp and beautiful accessories found around the home.
